Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Screening Technologies, the General Manager, New Technology is responsible for overseeing the identification, analysis and introduction of new technologies for screening operations in airports across Canada. The General Manager, New Technology performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
Graduated from a recognized college or university with a specialization in engineering, physics, chemistry, information technology or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position;
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in a technology-based role;
A minimum of five (5) years of management experience, including managing a team and providing leadership;
Experience in managing large-scale projects, including project design, development and implementation;
Experience providing strategic direction recommendations to senior management;
Experience playing a lead role in technology procurements and managing contract deliverables;
Experience in resource management (human, physical and financial);
Experience liaising with various stakeholders; and
Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

Experience introducing new technology in an operational environment;
Experience working with screening technologies;
Professional Engineering designation or PMP designation;
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, directives and guidelines, including those specific to Crown Corporations; and
Experience in the air transportation or security industry.
Specific work requirements
Ability to travel as required;
Language Profile: Bilingual (BBBB);
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
