Berens River School is a Nursery to Grade 9 School with 330 students. Berens River is a community of

approximately 2,500 located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, a 4 ½ hour drive north of Winnipeg. This

lakeside town offers community services such as a general store, Northern store and a community hall. The

beautiful surrounding area is a recreational paradise offering a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking

and canoeing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education Degree
• Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• A sound knowledge of provincial Early Years curricula
• Previous Early Years teaching experience
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
• A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
• Knowledge of balanced literacy and guided math programs
• Strong classroom management skills
• Experience working with students with unique needs
• A commitment to differentiated instruction
• A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices
• A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn
• Self-motivated
