Responsible for performing complex and specialized clerical functions related to creating and maintaining accurate graduate student records. The Graduate Admission & Records Assistant act as an expert and resource person for inquiries from applicants, students, staff and faculty on registration, grading, admissions, fee assessment, deadlines, graduation processing and related university policies and procedures. Reviews and processes a variety of forms and documents while checking for correct application of procedure and accuracy. The Assistant also provides guidance to graduate program assistants at the University on matters related to graduate admission, registration and graduation.

Qualifications:
High School graduation and one year of post-secondary education, including training in word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.

3 years experience.

An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study ad experience is acceptable.

55 wpm keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to use enterprise level information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SIMS, or equivalent) at an intermediate level.

Ability to adapt to new software applications and procedures, and assist internal and external stakeholders with their use.

Good knowledge of graduate institution regulations, programs, policies and procedures.

Ability to use standard office applications (e.g., Word, FileMaker, Excel) at an intermediate level.

Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative.

Ability to complete a high volume of work within deadlines.

Ability to work independently and prioritize.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Excellent oral, written and intercultural communications skills.

Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to work shifts from time to time as required.
