Health Policy Research Analyst

:

Working with staff Psychologist and Mental Health Consultant the Health Policy Research Analyst will conduct needs analysis of Deaf Seniors in Ontario and throughout Canada, with a view to developing a model of service.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Assist in identifying current needs of Deaf Seniors in Ontario and throughout Canada and identification of gaps in service

Performs literature searches and review of literature

Web searches on specific mental health related topics

Write reports and annotate bibliography

Statistical analysis

Retrieve and analyze policy documents on Mental Health and Deafness in Ontario and Canada

Familiarity with Reference manager programs such as Endnote

Other tasks as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Senior level or Honours undergraduate in Psychology or other Social Science or health related disciplines. MA level an asset

Knowledge of hearing loss and Deafness and experience working within the Deaf community and fluency in ASL an asset

Good knowledge of computer programs (Word, Excel, Survey Monkey)

Knowledge of basic statistics

Experience writing reports

Experience conducting research interviews is an asset

Ability to do literature searches and summaries

Ability to work independently and virtually

Knowledge of French language/LSQ an asset

Canada Summer Jobs Requirements

Must be within 15 to 30 years of age (as per Canada Summer Jobs requirements)

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number

Must be able to commit to full 12 weeks at 35 hours per week
