The Chinook School Division is seeking a Hutterian Coordinator beginning August 30, 2021. The Hutterian Coordinator is a team member responsible to the Director of Education for carrying out the Board’s educational objectives and management policies and overseeing the curriculum and staff needs of all Hutterian Schools in the Chinook School Division. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for Colony School staff and for general liaison with Colony Elders.
The successful candidate will have a commitment to the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division.
Duties: The Hutterian Coordinator shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including, but not restricted, to the following:
Responsible for the implementation of instructional policies and practices as well as for the development of frameworks and protocols around Hutterite Education
Prepare reports pertaining to Hutterite education that permit effective decision-making
Maintain good working relations with Hutterite Colony School principals, staff and community members
Advise on matters related to the establishment, maintenance and future initiatives involving Hutterite education
Facilitate staff training and professional development for Hutterite educators
Coordinate, oversee and direct the work of a Hutterian Learning Coach
Attend conferences, seminars and workshops as required to enhance personal knowledge, skills and networking
Work directly with Hutterian school administrators and their staffs on initiatives that are related to curriculum and their school and Colony goals
Report to supervisor on a regular basis about involvement with Colony Elders and Hutterian school staffs
Maintain open communication and inform appropriate senior administrators of emerging issues
With the cooperation and support of Curriculum Coordinators, work with school administrators and their staffs on initiatives that are related to curriculum and their school goals
Responsible for coordinating initiatives in: assessment for learning, instruction, professional development, and for supporting curriculum implementation and teachers in Hutterian Schools
Assist staff to integrate the curriculum into a Hutterian environment
Provide opportunity to address parent and Colony Elder concerns
Participate in identifying staffing and program needs with the cooperation and support of Coordinators of Student Services
Coordinate and access services required by Colony Schools
Meets regularly with the Superintendents of Schools on all school operational matters
Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division
Required Qualifications:
Sask. Professional A Teaching Certificate
Experience as an Administrator and teacher in Saskatchewan
Knowledge and respect of Hutterian culture and values
A strong background in curriculum in the Hutterian environment
Experience and/or training in coordination of and delivery of professional development
Experience with constructivist and cooperative learning approaches to teaching and learning
Experience with resource development and blended learning models
Experience in the support of teachers implementing curriculum into instruction
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to lead the development and implementation of a school division strategic plan for professional learning communities
Ability to develop creative ways for integrating curriculum into instruction in a Hutterian environment
Possess a valid driver’s license and own transportation
