Job Duties
1. Assessing applications and determining admission decisions with foreign credentials for admission to Sask Polytechnic and regional college programs, determining equivalency of foreign credentials towards admission criteria
2. Provides information, services and support regarding international admissions to programs, students, prospective applicants, the external community, and staff as the primary international resource position.
3. Responds to complex requests for information regarding foreign credentials and admission regarding equivalencies and required documents.
4. Researches, authenticates and verifies foreign credentials through national and international sources, conducts research on international educational systems.
5. Reviews English proficiency of applicants for compliance with the Sask Polytechnic’s English proficiency policy and advising applicants regarding Sask Polytechnic’s English proficiency policy.
6. Verifies enrollment eligibility as determined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
7. Utilize a resource library and recommends items that keeps pace with continuous change in the educational systems around the world.
8. Maintains policies and procedures and recommends adjustments relating to applicants with foreign credentials to the manager, providing direction to Registration Service Representatives (RSRs).
9. Provides information, services and support to programs, students, prospective applicants, and staff in the areas of application, admission requirements, selection criteria to programs, registration, grading, transfer credit, PLAR, fees and refunds, transcripting and credentialing.
10. Enters and maintains information in Banner Student to create the official student record.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Grade 12 with a recognized office education diploma or business diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, or the first level of international assessment training
2. Three years recent, relevant experience in administrative work
3. Intermediate database application knowledge and experience
4. Intermediate computer skills and experience with software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and Internet browsers
5. Minimum 45 WPM with a maximum 3% error rate
6. Effective communication skills, including both oral and written
7. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to calculate averages and percentages, analyze information to determine trends, convert grade scales, and make complex decisions independently using general guidelines
8. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize many competing and diverse tasks, and to complete them within tight timelines, with minimal supervision
9. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
10. Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations
11. Ability to effectively assist with training of co-workers
12. Ability to appropriately value diversity
13. A criminal record check may be required
14. Occasional travel is required, including international workshops
