Description
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building for daily operation of The Salvation Army Williams Lake Drop-In-Centre, Food Bank, Dining Hall, Thrift Store.
Hours:
- Full-Time, 36 Hrs/Week, Temporary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance procedures for building and related equipment; recommends repairs and purchases as required
- Performs a number of minor repairs and duties in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting; reports safety concerns and major repair issues (e. furniture and fixtures)
- Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums
- Checks, cleans, moves, arranges and dusts furniture as required
- Ensures the general upkeep of external property such as keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice, cleaning main floor outside windows, picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, gardening/watering and pruning shrubs, raking
- Checks doors and windows to ensure building and resident security; provides access to the facility and secures the facility as needed
- Reports safety concerns and repair issues (e. furniture and fixtures)
- Scrubs and sanitizes washroom facilities
- Restocks washroom supplies and distributes received material as required
- Spot washes accessible walls, strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpets as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School.
- WHMIS Certificate
Experience:
- Up to six months of prior related experience, including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and maintenance procedures.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Knowledge of chemicals and solvents
- Math skills for measuring cleaning chemicals
- Ability to manage your time efficiently

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
