This is a permanent, part-time position based on 3 hours per week. The work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor and may vary according to requirements of responsibility.

Operational hours of this facility are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
This is a unionized facility.

Fleeing from Persecution
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the general upkeep of the facility.
- Empty all garbage receptacles, vacuum, clean, dust. Wash, wax and buff floors
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, paper towels, soap; identify to supervisor when supplies require replenishing
- Keep all janitorial and storage rooms clean and neat.
- Routinely clean and polish inside glass walls and windows
- Report maintenance problems to supervisor
- Ensure Health and Safety and WHMIS compliance; perform all duties in a safe manner
- Have a knowledge and safe use of all job related equipment, their function and operation
- Represent The Salvation Army in a professional manner
Perform other position related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of Secondary School or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of prior related experience, including maintenance programs, cleaning and minor repairs
- Ability to lift/move 25 lbs
- Self-motivated and disciplined
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification would be an asset
- Provide an original copy of a Criminal Records Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector screening.
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.
