About the role:

The Senior Software Engineer – Machine Learning is responsible for contributing to Aquatic Informatics’ suite of predictive analytics products which support our customers’ mission to leverage intelligent water solutions to protect the environment and human health. They will work on an interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, domain experts and business leaders to ideate, build and operate disruptive predictive analytics products that influence critical real-world decisions.

This position is part of the Engineering Department located in Vancouver and will be hybrid or remote.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and establish best practices for operationalizing algorithms and models in production (MLOps)

  • Apply both software and data skills to lead and collaborate in the design, requirements gathering, implementation, review, documentation, and troubleshooting of new and existing features

  • Develop models of water processes in the natural and urban environment to optimize decision making.

  • Analyze time series and other related data to develop testable research problems that drive business value

  • Mentor and support junior engineers.

Are you qualified?

  • Masters in computer science, engineering, data science or a related technical discipline.

  • 7+ years of industry experience designing, building and operating large, scalable, data intensive, cloud-native applications on AWS and/or Azure platforms

  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying scalable machine learning solutions

  • 5+ years of software design and Python and/or C# coding experience

  • Outstanding English communication skills, both verbal and written
