What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to fill the role of Benefits Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and support of all Canadian and U.S benefit programs.

The duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

  • Supervise, lead, and support the benefits team.

  • Provide internal support and resolution to employees, managers, internal departments, and providers on benefits matters.

  • Develop, maintain, and implement appropriate changes in numerous policy booklets, manuals, and procedures.

  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations of U.S. employees in internal Benefits systems (Dayforce, ADP, Vensure) and provider portals for all benefit plans and 401(k), ensuring appropriate forms are completed.

  • Handle all communication related to COBRA eligibility for U.S. employees.

  • Develop case management strategies, manage claims reporting, and ongoing management of STD, LTD, and MPI claims. Facilitate and work with internal departments and providers on return-to-work plans for all Canadian and U.S. employees.

  • Main contact for Disability claims for internal departments, providers, and employees, completing and ensuring all information is correct per the employer required STD claim form.

  • Liaison between company and providers when U.S. billing discrepancies occur. Assist provider and internal departments to clear discrepancy.

  • Responsible for the oversight, support, and developmental growth of the organization’s Wellness Program in conjunction with the Wellness Program Facilitator for Canada and U.S.

  • Conduct Quarterly and Annual calculation for company RRSP/DPSP matching program.

  • Coordinate meetings concerning various areas, such as semi-annual Retirement Committee meetings for the purpose of reviewing group investment results, semi-annual Human Resource team update meetings, and other informational meetings for staff on benefits programs and offerings.

What Do You Bring?

  • Post-secondary education in a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

  • CEBS designation is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years in Group Benefits Administration and Claims Management role.

  • Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to handle high-demand situations in a professional manner.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with confidential data.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Self-starter; works well with minimum supervision.

  • Proven ability to prioritize, set, and meet deadlines while working under tight constraints and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time.

  • Customer service mindset – both internal and external.

  • Capable to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Developed analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and with the ability to handle sensitive situations in a professional manner.
