BASIC FUNCTION:

Design, develop, and implement the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning’s program evaluation plan. Identify ATL’s success metrics alongside ATL Team Leads, and with guidance from the Associate Vice Provost, create tools and mechanisms, including transparent dashboards, to capture and display those data points for strategic planning and decision-making purposes. Design intentional data collection methods to provide evidence of impact for all ATL programs, workshops, and professional development experiences for members of URI’s instructional community. Co-author reports and other strategic planning tools and communication pieces to inform the Associate Vice Provost, members of ATL, members of the Office of the Provost, and other campus stakeholders regarding the results associated with faculty and graduate students’ instructor development at URI. Partner with ATL’s Student Learning Outcomes, Assessment, and Accreditation team to continuously support academic program assessment happening across URI. Provide support to the University’s Joint Committee on Academic Program Review and Outcomes Assessment (JCAPROA) for campus-wide reporting on assessment, including systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to student learning and program performance to ensure alignment with institutional goals.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with all ATL Team Leaders to identify strong program evaluation and effectiveness measurements tailored to each team, and representative of overall ATL success metrics and goals.

Create program evaluation tools based on the identified metrics for each ATL team in order to capture data from campus stakeholders. Implement evaluation tools and improve them over time.

Create, develop, and implement ATL Data Dashboard as an additional resource that would capture identified ATL success metrics for each ATL Team, and program offered. Dashboards will be used to enhance ATL planning, strengthen resource allocations and support financial investments, as well as coordinate the review of assessment measures for all ATL Teams and programs each semester.

Work across ATL Teams to develop an internal program evaluation process that feeds acquired data back into all ATL teams for increased effectiveness for future ATL workshops, events, and campus offerings in all modalities.

Work with all members of ATL to author ATL’s Annual Report, as well as other strategic print and digital communications, showing data such as attendance and college/department representation at each ATL program, participant feedback, and other relevant data points in order to tell the story of ATL’s impacts and contributions to faculty success for each academic year at URI.

Contribute to the process of ATL reporting out data, as well as work with the Office of the Provost, colleges, academic departments, and other URI Offices and units as needed related to evidencing change and progress regarding ATL interventions and professional development offerings across URI.

Collaborate with ATL’s Student Learning Outcomes, Assessment, and Accreditation team to continuously support academic program assessment happening across the university.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform additional duties as assigned related to URI’s accreditation, student learning outcomes assessment, and academic program evaluation needs.

Author and develop strategic communications for ATL that evidence impact, success, as well as progress on and completion of identified strategic goals.

Have a general understanding of faculty development with an intended purpose to lead program evaluation efforts for the Office with a nuanced, strategic, and effective approach to communicating findings either internally or externally depending on the audience and request.

Write, edit, and produce resources, reports, and digital and print data visualization tools in a variety of formats for diverse audiences with guidance from the Associate Vice Provost.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Statistical software, such as SPSS; Microsoft Power B.I., Tableau, and or other software; Collected data displays; Personal computers, printers; spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.

Required QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

1. Earned master’s degree from an accredited institution of Higher Education.

2. Demonstrated experience creating, developing, and improving a program evaluation plan (i.e., for evidence and/or data that can be used in decision making by staff).

3. Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative program evaluation.

4. Demonstrated ability to interpret data.

5. Demonstrated experience implementing and helping others to implement data-based change.

6. Demonstrated project management experience.

7. Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into program assessment, evaluation, and communication priorities.

8. Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

9. Demonstrated presentation skills.

10. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

11. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

12. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

13. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

14. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED:

1. Demonstrated experience creating, developing, and improving a program evaluation plan (i.e., for evidence and/or data that can be used in decision making by staff in a higher education setting).

2. Earned Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited institution of Higher Education.

3. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to manage and update websites (i.e., using WordPress, or a similar content management software).
