About the Opportunity
Imagine Canada’s Grant Connect team is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Coordinator, Grant Education and Training (Bilingual) to play a central role in the development and delivery of educational content, virtual workshops, coaching, and platform onboarding sessions on grantseeking and institutional fundraising. This role is suitable for individuals looking to leverage their fundraising, content writing, and presentation skills to execute capacity-building initiatives for Canadian charities and nonprofits, with a focus on prospect research and strategic grant writing.

Our goals are not only to increase adoption of Grant Connect and ensure subscriber success, but also to empower organizations across the charitable and nonprofit sector to find funding for the crucial work they do in their communities and around the world.

Reporting to the Manager, Social Enterprise & Membership Development (Bilingual), the Coordinator, Grant Education & Training (Bilingual) will support current and potential Grant Connect subscribers as well as the broader fundraising community across a variety of channels. Grant Connect, Imagine Canada’s fundraising platform, helps non-profit organizations across Canada find funding to sustain and grow their services. This position is ideal for a motivated candidate looking to work on a purpose-driven digital product in the nonprofit and/or technology sectors.

Primary tasks and responsibilities
Content development & presentation – 50%

– Develop engaging and informative content, including guides, webinars, and videos focusing on grant writing, prospect research, sector trends, and fundraising strategy.
– Develop and deliver personalized, bilingual grantseeking coaching to Grant Connect subscribers.
– Coordinate translations for content and provide bilingual quality assurance.
– Lead bilingual group training sessions tailored to registered charities, nonprofits, and fundraising professionals in Canada.
– Maintain knowledge of trends and research in the charitable and nonprofit sector, particularly related to institutional philanthropy.

 

Support & training – 25%

– Provide bilingual frontline support in collaboration with Imagine Canada’s frontline team on inquiries related to fundraising success.
– Advise Grant Connect’s product and data leads on potential product and data improvements that will meet the evolving needs of the sector.

 

Content scheduling & coordination – 20%

– Coordinate the workflow for our monthly fundraising newsletter, Grantseeker.
– Find and curate high-quality fundraising content for Grantseeker.
– Support execution of community outreach and engagement initiatives to promote Grant Connect’s resources and training opportunities.
– Coordinate content schedules, liaise with external contributors, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Performance optimization support – 5%

– Evaluate the impact of training content and workshops, adapting based on feedback and sector developments.
– Assist in generating reports and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in our support processes.

Key qualifications and competencies
– Minimum 2 years of grant writing and/or grant fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector, with a successful funding track record.
– Prior experience working with fundraising teams, understanding their challenges and opportunities.
– Previous experience in client-facing roles.
– Complete command of both French and English (written and oral). Interviews will be conducted in English and French and will include a written component in both languages. We are seeking candidates with complete fluency.
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at presenting complex information in an engaging and accessible way.
– Strong organizational and project management abilities.
– Experience and/or interest in developing and delivering educational content and training, especially in virtual settings.
– Knowledge of Grant Connect and other commonly used fundraising tools desirable
– Commitment to the nonprofit sector’s values and mission in Canada.
– Proficiency in using, learning, and experimenting with new technologies.

*Remote work is the norm for staff, but in-person attendance at regular staff retreats (and other meetings depending on the role) is required.

Terms & Conditions
Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position
Annual Salary Range: In addition to health/dental benefits, Group RSP, professional development, and home office budget, the starting salary for this position is $61,300, with an automatic salary increase every year. The target salary for this role is $73,500, which the coordinator is expected to reach after three years in the role.
Location: Anywhere in Canada with a reliable internet connection
Work hours: Imagine Canada is currently piloting a 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday, for a total of 28 working hours/week. This pilot is running until December 31, 2024 with the possibility of extension. If the pilot is not extended, working hours will be 35 hours per week. Flexible working hours to accommodate personal and family commitments.
Application deadline: April 14 at 5pm ET. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews will be conducted as qualified applicants are identified; applications will remain open until the position is filled.

Steps to apply 
1. Applicants are invited to complete our short online form.
2. We expect to invite 8-12 qualified candidates to a short introductory video call (20 minutes) and to complete a behavioural assessment to better understand and discuss your working style (10 minutes to complete). Interview questions and a copy of your assessment results will be provided in advance of the call.
3. We expect to invite four or five shortlisted candidates to attend a full, video interview (45-60 minutes) with our hiring committee of 4 staff members and complete a writing assessment.
4. We expect the final two or three candidates will be asked to attend a short interview/meeting with our CEO and some members of the hiring committee (30 minutes).
5. We commit to notifying all applicants of the status of their submission within 6 weeks of the application deadline.
In recognition of the efforts of preparing for a full interview, Imagine Canada will financially compensate interviewees that advance beyond the screening call at a fixed rate of $100 per candidate.
