The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally for its clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant and indigenous health, and far more.

As Education Development Project Manager, you will oversee DFCM’s Education program by advancing key projects, accreditation, and strategic initiatives with the aim of strengthening department and program quality, operational effectiveness, and growth. You will work closely with internal and external leadership to ensure that DFCM targets and objectives are achieved, while managing key partnerships and collaborations with partners of strategic importance. Your excellent project management, analytical, and stakeholder relations experience will allow for and enhance DFCM programming and strategic initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementing project phases aswell as developing or modifying project schedules to expedite and compress the critical path to meet timelines
  • Working closely with faculty and hospital leadership, project partners and clients regarding the development of education initiatives while also researching, analyzing, and recommending solutions to project challenges
  • Planning and implementing post-project review, audit processes, and project quality controls
  • Developing and implementing instructional strategies to supportlearning objectives, incorporating current best practices in teaching
  • Developing content and learning outcomes for instructional workshops
  • Articulately writing project-specific proposals and reports; curriculum and briefings; contributingto research findings that are published in academic journals
  • Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning initiatives
  • Directing workflows and scheduling of project teams as well as monitoring project expenditures and accounts

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working within an academic and/or health care setting with related experience in strategy development
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of education programs and initiatives
  • Experience advancing projects in medical education or healthcare education
  • Demonstrated full cycle project management experience
  • Experience implementing accreditation and evaluation activities within the medical education context
  • Experience evaluating and measuring program effectiveness and efficiency
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data findings to produce comprehensive reports, including communication materials, proposals and briefings
  • Experience with working with senior academic administrators in multiple academic divisions
  • Experience supervising and directing the workflow of appointed staff
  • Experience designing content and learning outcomes for workshops
  • Superior leadership and organizational skills in planning, project management and task coordination
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, learning management systems and survey tools (Qualtrics), with the flexibility, adaptability and desire to seek out, learn and embrace new and emerging technology
  • Flexibility and problem solver orientation; and strong leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a constantly fluctuating workload and to meet deadlines
  • Superb research, writing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tact; ability and willingness to work cooperatively in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Diplomatic, professional and persuasive in establishing strategic partnerships
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use sound judgement under pressure, while using high degree of independence, initiative, tact and discretion
  • Ability to problem solve and deal effectively with multiple priorities and projects with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy

USW Pay Band 13 — $84,813. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $108,463. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
