Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, has an immediate opening for a Fish Health Manager.
Responsibilities:

Manage and mentor (as applicable) the fish health team consisting of veterinarians and fish health technicians.

Provide primary veterinary care to all sites (Freshwater and Saltwater) in Atlantic provinces and Maine.

Liaise with government officials for any biosecurity or fish health issues.

Draft and review companywide fish health policies, such as the Fish Health Management Plan, the Biosecurity Plan, relevant SOPs, etc.

Provide training, as necessary, to production teams on mortality classification, husbandry, etc.

Represent fish health on internal meetings with department heads.

Review and control the fish health team budget.

Oversee the in-house laboratory for all in-house testing and coordinate with third party laboratories for external testing.

Represent the company for any industry-wide fish health projects or committees.
Qualifications:

Must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and be eligible for licensure in the Atlantic Canadian Provinces.

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment both out in the field and in an office environment
