Background & Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a General Labour employee at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Klondike,

Popsicle , and Wall’s !!

The o bjective of the General Labour position is to stage and supply packaging and dry good ingredients to the production floor to ensure that production requirements are met.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

• Report to your scheduled work centre at the scheduled shift start time

• Ensure the safe working, good housekeeping and good manufacturing practices are observed , in meeting daily production and quality expectations

• Ensure that the proper quantity of materials and or ingredients are brought down from the supply hall to the production floor to meet daily production requirements

• Report safety hazards or environmental risks immediately to [the] superviso r

• Perform the job duties in a manner that is safe for yourself and others around you, including compliance with safety and ergonomic practices

• Miscellaneous duties as assigned

  What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Flexibility to work shift schedules

• Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.

• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.            

• Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.

• Education – High School Diploma or GED (General Educational Development) equivalent
