Industrial Electrician in Surrey, British Columbia



  • day shift, $42/hr*

Electricians are responsible for safely performing work and preventative maintenance on all plant systems and machinery.

You will be working on a variety of industrial equipment.

Primary Duties:

• Maintain, replace and repair plant systems and machinery

• Work with GE and Allen Bradley PLCs

• Work with Motor Controls and VFDs

• Motor controls

• reporting to your supervisor daily

• Safe operation and start-up of equipment

• Repairing breakdowns before they happen

• Follow preventative maintenance schedule

• Following all Lock Out and Safe Work Procedures

• Identify, protect, and report safety hazards to management or a member of the safety committee

• Work on the IT in the sawmill

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience as an industrial electrician

• Red Seal Industrial Electrician Certification

• Familiar with GE and Allen Bradley PLCs

• 1- 2 years of experience with Motor Controls and VFDs

• Previous IT experience

• Valid BC Driver’s License

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Experience troubleshooting

• Steel Toe Work Boots

Work Environment:

• Family run business that was established in 1963 and currently have a workforce of over 300 employees on a large strip of the Fraser River.

• LOUD – will be wearing ear protection almost all the time

• must have good communication skills (using radio to communicate and it’s LOUD)

• Tuesday – Friday: 6:30am – 3:00pm & Saturdays 7:00am – 3:30pm
