Description:

The Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is recruiting a radiologist in the Nuclear Medicine Division. The position is primarily based in Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto with over 1,212 total beds, of which 677 are dedicated to acute care. SHSC houses The Odette Cancer Center, one of the largest comprehensive cancer programs in the country and Canada’s first and largest trauma program. The radiology practice is composed of more than 50 subspecialty radiologists. The candidate will be a central team member in the division of Nuclear Medicine. This individual is expected to take on a key contributing role in all areas of subspecialty in nuclear medicine. Experience and research interest in PET-CT and PET-MRI imaging and an associated strong Theranostics skillset are highly desirable. The candidate will be an integral part of the teaching faculty of our undergraduate and postgraduate (Residency and Fellowship) programs and actively participate in research as a Clinician Teacher or Clinician Investigator. 

The qualified applicant should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, have Fellowship qualification in Nuclear Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, with strong preference for dual Fellowship in Radiology & Nuclear Medicine and be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of Ontario. Recognized post-graduate training in Nuclear Medicine following completion of Radiology residency and/or subspecialty Nuclear Medicine fellowship training (1 year minimum) is essential. 

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Compensation is based on fee for service model. The estimated income range will be $300,000 to $400,000 per annum for a full-time equivalent to start with opportunity for increased salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
