Aerotek is seeking a talented machinist for their robotics manufacturing client in the east end! The ideal candidate has at least a year’s experience as a machinist, setting up CNC mills, lathes, grinders, etc. with very tight tolerances for each specific component.

Job Description

  • Candidate will be working in the machine shop. They will handle various runs, not a repetitive one-part process.

  • Responsibilities include complete setup of runs based on provided drawings, test running, determining tolerances, materials, speed, and completing the run.

  • The candidate will use calipers and basic measuring tools during runs for quality checks.

  • Basic machine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting are required.

  • Documentation for all products is crucial as it is military-grade, demanding high accuracy and thoroughness.

Skills & Requirements

  • 1 year minimum of work experience as a manual machinist using CNC mills, lathes, saws, grinders, calipers

  • Ability setup machines to very tight tolerances and accuracy

  • Ability to work with drawings, sketches, blueprints and apply mathematics/measurements accurately

Work Environment

  • Monday – Friday Day shift, 44 hours a week

  • The machine shop is attached to the production area on the first floor, which can be loud.

  • Protective hearing aids are available.

  • Always work alongside someone for safety; cannot be alone in the shop.

  • Steel-toed boots are required, and all other PPE (glasses, gloves, hearing protection) is provided on-site.
