In the role of Manager, Fraud Awareness and Education, you’re responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing Scotiabank’s capability to communicate and educate on fraud-related issues both internally and externally. This includes creating and executing comprehensive communication strategies, developing fraud awareness initiatives, and promoting Global Fraud Management as a thought leader within Scotiabank and the industry. You lead the efforts in crafting and disseminating key fraud messages and business insights across various channels. Your role is crucial in keeping employees informed, customers protected, and stakeholders engaged in the Bank’s fraud prevention and awareness efforts.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive internal communications and awareness strategy for Global Fraud Management employees and the broader Bank using various channels and tactics.
  • Define and drive an integrated customer fraud awareness strategy to enhance protection against fraud.
  • Design and develop content for executive presentations, ensuring key fraud messages and insights are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and evolve internal communications delivery channels to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Conceptualize and design key communications materials that align with employee and customer communications strategies.
  • Support and execute key internal events (town halls, webcasts, information sessions) that align with the overall strategic priorities of Global Fraud Management.
  • Develop tools to measure, analyze and report on the effectiveness of communications initiatives, continuously improving based on insights gained.
  • Collaborate with communications stakeholders across the Bank to ensure alignment and effectiveness of fraud-related messaging.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups, providing strategic communications counsel on fraud awareness and prevention.
  • Stay informed about new trends in fraud and communication methods, making recommendations on their application to enhance awareness efforts.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have: 

  • 5-8 years of experience in communications, strategic support, or related field, preferably with exposure to fraud or financial crimes topics.
  • Relevant university degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Business.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven thought leadership in communications best practices.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, and expert skills in MS PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex information into key messages.
  • Experience in building communication strategies and events.
  • Ability to prioritize and react quickly within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish considered an asset.
