Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director Payroll, Technology Solutions and Analytics, the Payroll Administrator:

  • Prepares student/casual/part-time/full-time payroll for a population of over 2000.
  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by email, phone, in person and virtually.
  • Works collaboratively with other Human Resources employees to ensure the timely, accurate and effective delivery of Human Resources/Payroll Services.
  • Works collaboratively with the Human Resources team to ensure the timely, accurate and effective delivery of Human Resources/Payroll services, both in person and virtually.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.

Experience and Education Requirements

To be the successful Payroll Administrator you will have:

  • Community college courses equivalent to 1-year post-high school education.
  • Payroll Compliance Legislation and Payroll Fundamentals 1 courses, as offered by the National Payroll Institute (required).
  • A minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Successful record of teamwork in a high-volume work environment with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent computer/keyboarding skills (in both speed and accuracy) using an integrated computerized payroll system, Word, Excel, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software and Crystal Reports.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
