Summary

Bell’s Enterprise Data Platforms and AI is a team focused on leading data transformation across BCE covering standard data practices, unified data platforms, and tools capabilities. The data strategy is being designed to enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and drive innovation across the organization.

Along with building a unified data platform strategy across the entire company, the team is also responsible for creating and harnessing a AI practice to facilitate curating of AL-ML, GenAI use cases across the entire enterprise. We are looking for a Senior Data Governance prime, that will be responsible for owning the Data Governance framework, building the required data practices and collaborating with the business data teams on creating a governance forum that for ideating practices and tracking deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a data governance framework: Define policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for data management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Design and develop data management processes: Create and maintain processes for data collection, storage, access, usage, and disposal, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.

  • Champion data quality: Establish and enforce data quality standards, implement data quality monitoring mechanisms, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Promote data literacy: Educate and train employees on data governance principles, policies, and best practices, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business units, IT teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective implementation of data governance initiatives.

  • Monitor and assess compliance: Regularly monitor data governance compliance, identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions.

  • Stay informed on industry trends: Keep abreast of emerging data governance best practices, regulations, and technologies, and adapt the framework accordingly.

  • Contribute to data strategy: Participate in the development and implementation of the organization’s overall data strategy, ensuring data governance aligns with business objectives.

Critical Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and best practices.

  • Experience in designing and developing data management processes.

  • Expertise in data quality management and assurance.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across different levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.

  • Working technical knowledge of the Collibra Data catalog platform

  • Experience with rolling out a Dataplex instance that was supporting multitenancy, in a data mesh development lifecycle for GCP

  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry
