What you’ll be doing
As the Senior Manager of Liquidity and Non-Trading Market Risk, you will assist the Senior Director, Liquidity and Non-Trading Risk by identifying and investigating internal and external risk factors regarding CIBC’s balance sheet, funding and liquidity, in light of policy and regulations in this space. You will also assist with assumption reviews around key liquidity metrics. You will also assist in understanding data sources better which are all inputs for calculating different liquidity and funding metrics. You will cultivate a broad knowledge of the bank, including a deep understanding of how CIBC’s balance sheet behaves during liquidity stress. You present findings to stakeholders in Risk Management, reflecting the team’s analysis, and taking follow-up questions away for further investigation.

How you’ll succeed

Being a Finance and Risk Expert – You have a solid understanding of the balance sheet and the implications from liquidity and funding risk management. You understand the interaction between different measures of risk and the bank’s strategic decision-making. You are curious and look for ways to deepen the knowledge of those connections.

Investigating issues to their resolution – You will investigate liquidity systems and models, and connect stress assumptions to the business reality of CIBC’s products. You will independently keep track of open questions, follow through your investigations by liaising with the business and Treasury, and present back to stakeholders to ensure your findings are integrated and understood.

Running and Improving Processes – You will use strong analytical skills to run, maintain, improve, build, and most importantly explain the tools we use to measure CIBC’s liquidity risk. You will deliver your explanations concisely and effectively.
Who you are
-
You can demonstrate experience in Risk Management, Treasury or Finance. You can work with several financial concepts, understanding the fundamentals of Bank’s liquidity, funding and balance sheet. You have extensive knowledge of SBU products and are able to explain the cash flows forecast from assets and liabilities with the assumptions you used. You can communicate well in writing and in presentations, and back your analysis up with a strong sense of the numbers. It’s an asset if you have worked with multiple financial stakeholders; you are able to build financial models and connect financial concepts; you have FRM and /or CFA, CPA designation; and you have advanced skills in MS Office and SQL
