Course description: This lecture-format course focuses on a relatively broad topic in anthropology. Topics change from year to year. See Anthropology website for more details.

Prerequisite: 9.0 FCEs. Further pre-requisites vary from year to year, consult the department.

The special topic for this course is Anthropology of Indigeneity

Estimated course enrolment: 30 students

Class schedule: Thursdays 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Classes begin January 6 and end April 4, 2025

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025 (Grades must be submitted by May 7, 2025)

Sessional Lecturer I: $9457.90

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,326.62

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $ 10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications:

PhD in Anthropology (preferably with a specialty in Anthropology and Indigeneity) required.

Demonstrated evidence of superior teaching is required.

Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures, delivering lectures, developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests and exams, holding regular office hours.
