Course number and title: CLA230H1F – Introduction to Greek History

Course description: A historical survey of the most significant features in the development of the civilization and states of ancient Greece from the Bronze Age to the second century B.C.E.

Estimated course enrolment: 150 students

Estimated TA support: 100 hours

Class schedule: Tuesdays, 5 pm – 8 pm

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024 

Salary: 

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90

Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term: $9,930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer Il, Long Term: $10,326.62

Sessional Lecturer Ill: $10,362.76

Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term: $10,570.02 

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications: Graduate degree in Classics or cognate discipline; advanced knowledge of Greek History.

Preferred qualifications: Relevant teaching experience at the university level preferred.

Description of duties: Preperation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades (including any grading or submission of grades not completed by the end of session); supervising TA(s), holding regular office hours.
