About the Role
Our client in North York is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shunter to join their yard/warehouse operations team. As the Shunter, you will be responsible for moving trailers/trucks within the yard, assisting with loading/unloading logistics, coordinating with dispatch and warehouse staff, and ensuring all movements are done safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate yard trucks/trailers to reposition equipment safely within the facility
- Assist with loading/unloading, securing equipment and preparing vehicles for dispatch
- Perform yard vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse and site staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain accurate records/logs for yard movements and equipment usage
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures and standards
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario AZ driver’s licence with clean abstract
- Prior experience in a yard or shunting role, preferably in logistics, transport or warehouse environment
- Comfortable operating yard vehicles/trailers and working around trucks and heavy equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with different stakeholders
- Strong attention to safety, punctuality and reliability
