TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton Campus champions teaching and research particularly in artificial intelligence, computer systems, cybersecurity, data science, database systems, data mining, human-computer interaction, machine learning, and software engineering. The Faculty of Computer Science invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates with teaching or research expertise in computer systems, internet-of-things, cloud computing, human-computer interaction or software engineering would be of particular interest. We seek exceptional candidates with high quality research and publications to strengthen and complement our current training and research programs. Entrepreneurship, industrial experience, and ability to collaborate on both research and industry-focused projects will be considered assets.

To be considered for the position the applicant should have a PhD degree in Computer Science,
Software Engineering, or in a relevant discipline; additional related experience will be an asset.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, work with industry, and be able to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the programs offered by the Faculty of Computer Science. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to work on team
projects are essential.

This position is subject to final budgetary approval and will start on January 1, 2025 or shortly thereafter. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.

The salary range for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick
