Description
The Christmas Kettle Campaign Coordinator ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the Kettle Campaign, maximizing volunteers, workers and donations and ensuring competent, compliant Kettle Coverage within Wetaskiwin, Leduc and Camrose.
Temporary: November 8, 2021 to January 15, 2022
Expected to work weekdays and Saturdays. Hours vary. Lunch breaks are provided but unpaid.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including: orientation and performance management and scheduling of kettle workers and volunteers.
- Responsible as a group work leader, provides direction and checking results and overseeing the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign workers and volunteers
- Participate in recruitment of volunteers
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships at all kettle sites with staff and management.
- Deliver and pick-up kettles to/from sites daily when needed, ensuring the security of donations.
- Ensuring Salvation Army Covid19 protocols are being followed by Kettle volunteers and workers.
- Host at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
- Ensure that kettle locations have adequate cleaning supplies as per covid19 protocols, COVID forms, and other items.
- Prepare weekly schedule for kettle workers at all Kettles.
- Post campaign; retrieve all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations.
- Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Clean valid driver’s licence and registered and insured vehicle for daily use.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience in office administration, with general office equipment, and working skills and experience using MS Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task.
- Familiar with creating and maintaining accurate shift schedules
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and the purpose of The Salvation Army
Note: Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Capabilities:
- The performance of the job requires attention to detail in scheduling, as well as in distribution of daily Kettle supplies.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds will be required.
- Providing direction and checking of staff/volunteers
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Prior kettle experience or equivalent would be a definite asset.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- Must have COVID-19 Vaccine Passport
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
