Description
The Christmas Kettle Coordinator coordinates the operation of kettles, volunteers & record of deposits & reports as requested.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
- Responsible as a group work leader, provides direction and checking results.
- Participate in recruitment of staff/volunteers
- Orientation and performance management of Kettle Workers employees/volunteers
- Coordinate the schedule for kettle staff/volunteers and respond to emergency absences, etc.
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign staff/volunteers
- Assume responsibility for coordinating kettle counters and /or overseeing counting
- Oversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including, scheduling of staff, counting, reporting, and maintaining records of donations received
- Deliver and pick-up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations
- Host at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
- Ensure that kettle locations have adequate required supplies
- Record statistical data and prepare weekly time sheets as required
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sites
- Represent The Salvation Army at all times in a positive, professional manner while at work
- Post campaign; retrieve all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations and provide final report
- Perform other position related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team setting
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, manage multiple tasks, change priorities at short notice and accept direction as necessary.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to lift and carry 20 – 30 pounds
- Completed High School or equivalent
- Prior experience would be an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Policy Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
- Provide proof of double Covid vaccination.
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
– Full time contract seasonal position based on up to 35-40 hours per week.
Shifts will include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts and split shifts, Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
– Contract from November 8, 2021 to January 7, 2022.
