The Kettle Coordinator position exists to ensure the smooth running of the Christmas Kettle fundraising campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating staffing (employees and volunteers).
- Full time temporary
- Term: November 2, 2021 – January 7, 2022
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Saturday
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, train, direct and work alongside kettle workers
- Schedule kettle workers on the kettle program (computerized), ensuring all kettle locations are covered daily
- Create a kettle schedule for both paid and volunteer kettle workers
- Keep accurate records of volunteer information, using the Kettle Program
- Ensure kettle locations are kept well-stocked with supplies (i.e. literature, etc.)
- Contact churches, businesses and other organizations to fill volunteer spots on kettles
- Coordinate the schedule for kettle staff and respond to emergency absences, etc.
- Coordinate delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations
- Assist with doing deposits of donated funds
- Work in cooperation with the Divisional Public Relations Department and Weetamah staff
- Work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends
- Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
- Perform other position-related duties as required.
- Participate in Staff Meetings and in-service training as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education Level Attained:
- Completed High School
Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s license with own vehicle preferred
- Criminal Police Check
Minimum Prior Related Experience:
- More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience.
- Experience in office administration
- Experience with Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word
- Experience with general office equipment and a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment of light to moderate weight in winter conditions will be required
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to manage donations, safe transport of donations to the office, and the deposit of those funds to the bank
- Initial and primary point-of-contact for all kettle workers (employees) and volunteers
- Responsible for tracking hours and schedules for kettle workers
- Ability to travel frequently within the city of Winnipeg in winter conditions will be required
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends (Saturday)
- Able to work on-call and carry a cell phone
