The Kettle Coordinator position exists to ensure the smooth running of the Christmas Kettle fundraising campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating staffing (employees and volunteers).
- Temporary Part Time Position
- End Date – January 4, 2022
- Up to 40 hours per week: Mondays – Saturdays
The Salvation Army requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to provide proof of full vaccination. Requests for exemption from the policy due to medical reasons or other grounds protected by provincial human rights legislation will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, train, direct and work alongside volunteers
- Schedule volunteers, ensuring all kettle locations are covered daily
- Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites, addressing issues as they arise
- Coordinate the schedules for kettle staff, responding to emergency absences
- Stand on kettles as vacant spaces dictate
- Ensure kettle locations are well stocked with supplies
- Ensure kettles are dropped off and picked up daily
- Some involvement in counting and depositing of kettle monies
- Contact churches, businesses and other organizations to fill volunteer spots
- Retrieve all equipment from kettle locations at conclusion of campaign
- Work in cooperation with the Divisional Public Relations Department and Living Hope staff
- Keep accurate records of volunteer information using the kettle program.
- Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education Level Attained:
- Completed High School
Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s license with own vehicle preferred
- Criminal Police Check
Minimum Prior Related Experience:
- More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience.
- Experience in office administration
- Experience with Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word
- Experience with general office equipment and a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office administration
- Ability to lift and carry equipment of light to moderate weight in winter conditions will be required
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
