This is an exciting opportunity to join the Water division of our Engineering department as a Labourer and begin your municipal career! Current opportunities offer full-time hours for assignments from early spring through to early winter, with the possibility of extension or re-call in the following year.
Duties and responsibilities of Labourers working in our Water division include, but are not restricted to:
- Water system maintenance
- Water system construction
- Pipe installation
- General labouring and cleanup
- Other related duties as required
The ideal candidate will be an individual that possesses significant knowledge and skills in the methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in water related construction and maintenance work. Advanced courses in Public Works are also desirable for this position. Applicants are encouraged to highlight residential and commercial labouring, irrigation, landscaping, construction, underground plumbing, and/or piping work experience. Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia, Class 5, is required.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM).
