Reporting to the Program Coordinator, Hill and Levene, the Admissions Support will prepare, coordinate, and manage all aspects of Admissions, including; handling/processing application fees, online research; collection and verification, test scores, and processing admissions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage graduate admission Banner modules and the University’s related systems (ie.Levene-related Caspur Reports for admissions).
- Identify and assess the quality of supporting data/evidence for Admissions and collect additional data/evidence, as needed.
- Composition, processing and expediting of admission letters and Banner entry of final decisions (acceptance/non-acceptance).
- Combined Web support for online admissions.
- Gather, enter, and update data to maintain admissions records and databases; establish and maintain files and records.
- Provide administrative support for the Dean, Associate Dean, Program co-ordinator and Program Manager in relation to student admissions.
- Develop, produce, and distribute office publications including manual for Graduate Banner modules, recruitment and admission brochures.
- Assist in training of new junior staff and students in relation to job functions, policies and procedures within Levene admissions.
- Assist in training and support for Levene secretarial contacts in regards to Graduate Student Banner admissions module.
- Act as Levene admissions representative on committees when required; as well as, representing the Levene admissions at recruitments fairs throughout the year.
- Follow up with students who were accepted with conditions to update their records and send unconditional acceptance letter to allow for registration.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Grade 12 with the successful completion of recognized business course(s) combined with a minimum of five years’ related experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook-GroupWise), Adobe Creative Suite, web support and other complex databases with a preference for: Banner Student Module and CASPUR.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge, skill and experience in the application of academic policies, processes and procedures within the University of Regina specifically in admission requirements;
- In-depth knowledge in the evaluation of educational transcripts/documents and special programs is required (or similar experience in a post secondary setting);
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to deal effectively in a courteous, cooperative and confidential manner with students, staff and the public.
- Ability to exercise analytical skills, critical assessment and problem-solving techniques required in primary duties relating to students, faculty, staff and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment.
- Ability to understand and comply with University health and safety requirements and all safe work procedures and practices applicable to this position.
Physical Demands Pay Grade CUPE Phase 4 Salary Range $41,241.20 – $55,710.20 Annually Status Term Work Hours
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m on campus
