Reporting to the Regional Director, Western Region, you will be responsible for driving the successful implementing of BGC Canada’s Learning and Impact Project; as well as the evaluation of various BGC Canada programs and projects.

About BGC Canada

The national team of BGC Canada, formerly Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, provides support to our member Clubs, and leads in issues management, policy advocacy, and other critical work on behalf of Clubs.  We advance the agenda for the children, youth and families that are served by member Clubs.  The team does critical work in the areas of public policy, research, program development, and Club support.  The national team is also responsible for building the brand of BGC, fundraising, and managing public relations and communications for our cause.

 

The Role

BGC Canada is seeking a Manager, Impact and Evaluation, to support the National Team with the evaluation of existing and new programs and projects. You will also support Clubs with the role out of our new Learning and Impact Project, aimed to prove and improve the impact of Clubs across Canada, individually and collectively, through evaluation. The incumbent can be based anywhere in Canada (must have their own workspace).  Should the incumbent be in the Greater Toronto Area, the role can be hybrid or based out of the national office in North York, Ontario.  This position may require travel throughout Canada and evening and weekend work (when applicable)

 

About You

You are skilled at cultivating relationships, are a strong communicator, have an analytical mind, and attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Roll up and analyze data on BGC Canada programs and projects,
  • Develop tools (i.e., surveys) to gather data, outcomes and outputs,
  • Disaggregate Club data from outcomes and outputs from the larger collection,
  • Collaborate on grant proposals and reports, specifically on the data and outcomes deliverables and requirements,
  • Create high level infographics, reports, etc., that communicate the impact of BGC Canada programs,
  • Support Clubs with understanding how to use data to prove and improve their service delivery,
  • Support Clubs across Canada to gather qualitative and quantitative data,
  • Act as a liaison with external evaluators and the Program Manager for projects in development/progress, and,
  • Collaborate with Club Services and Fund Development Teams to seek funding that supports impact and evaluation.

 

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field of study, such as social sciences, education, etc.,
  • Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis,
  • Experience with emergent, outcomes based, person centred service design principles,
  • Experience with grant and report writing,
  • Proven success as a researcher and an analytical disposition,
  • Known to display exceptional planning and organizational skills,
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills,
  • Proven strategic leader and team player who demonstrates great initiative, integrity, and a ‘mission-drive’ mindset, and,
  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in a charity or not for profit organization, ideally in a federated model
  • Experience and comfort in a Microsoft environment, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams, as well as Salesforce
  • Proficiency in French

The salary band is $60,000 – 75,000, plus benefits.  Starting salaries are based on relevant experience related to the role within the posted salary band.
