Department/Unit/Program Description
The Nutrition Services department serves an average of 150 meals daily in our Cafeteria and an average of 450 inpatient meals daily. The Nutrition Services Team consists of Food Service Assistants, Food Production Assistants (cooks) and Diet Technicians.

Position Summary
As the Manager of Nutrition Services/Print Shop you are energetic, creative and able to inspire your team to meet the daily requirements and long term goals of the department. You are focused on cultivating an environment of teamwork, exceptional customer service and provision of nutritious, delicious and safe food.

In this role, you are responsible to the Director of Engineering, Facilities and Support Services and are accountable for the organization and overall management of the daily functions of Patient/Cafeteria Services and the Print Shop. You will develop, maintain and direct administrative, departmental standards and policies and procedures in line with the Quality Assurance Program. You are responsible for preparing the annual operating and capital budgets for Patient/Cafeteria Services and the Print Shop and administering the approved departmental budgets while ensuring fiscal accountability.

You are also responsible for Environmental Services and Stores Departments in the absence of their manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • Food Service Supervisor or University Degree or equivalent education in food service management
  • Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, or willingness to obtain, and eligible to the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management
  • Minimum five (5) years management experience in Health Care of institutional food service
  • A high degree of professionalism along with personal and professional integrity
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Proven planning, organizing and effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
  • Proven critical thinking, problem solving and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis

Hours Of Work
Hours of work for this position are 37.5 hours/week. Flexibility of hours of work is required and is based on department needs.
