Job Description

Osanis Counselling and Consulting Inc. is a small CARF accredited social services organization. We are always seeking front line mental health workers or community support workers to join our team and work with adults with complex psychosocial and behavioural needs.

All our clients experience various degrees of limitations with adaptive behaviour function skills. Some of these clients live with a wide range of mental health disorders. All clients are ambulatory, and no personal care assistance is needed. Some of these clients may be involved with the justice system. Most of these clients live in some type of assisted living housing and fewer with their families. Some of our clients live temporarily in shelters or are homeless.

This position focuses on providing one-to-one or two-to-one psychosocial support in all areas of daily living tasks such as personal errands, house chores, recreational activities like going for coffee or walks as well as with problem-solving, planning and pursuing personal/academic/vocational goals. Each employee has their own caseload depending on availability, skills, and personal preferences.

The starting wage is $25.17 per hour and the top wage is $27.45 per hour after completing our internal trial period that is the equivalent to one year of full-time work. We do not offer benefits. The hourly wage includes a percentage in lieu of benefits. Everyone has the same start wage regardless of academic education and/or work experience. The increase from the start wage to the top wage is based on commitment to the organization (accumulated hours).

Workers need to have a vehicle. Use of own vehicle is a condition for employment. All workers receive 45 cents per kilometer. A worker could drive between 20 and 30 kilometers per workday.
