Salary:
$68,341.00 – $77,536.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $99,968.00). Vacation entitlement annually is 240 hours (pro-rated from hire date for current year), to be utilized for summer months (July and August), and paid time off between December 25 January 1st each year. Description:
Northern Lights College is seeking an individual to instruct our Millwright Foundations program, who would be willing to share their knowledge and experience with our students who are looking to begin a career in the millwright trade.
This program provides students with 24 weeks of foundation training in addition to a 2-week practicum period, and upon completion will have gained the skills required for the student to obtain Level 1 Technical training.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess Inter Provincial Red Seal Millwright certification complete, with an apprenticeship certificate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work and contribute positively to the College environment are essential. A supportive attitude to students and student success is expected. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Preference will be given to those candidates with a generalist background, including oil and gas, forestry, and mining operations. The successful candidate should hold, or be willing to work towards attaining, the Provincial Instructor Diploma.
