The Friendship Circle of Montreal is a nonprofit organization that creates friendship in the lives of individuals with special needs and provides an opportunity to become a contributing member of the community. Through our programming, Friendship Circle aims to promote an inclusive community that values all individuals regardless of the challenges they face.
We are looking for an individual to teach a dynamic inclusive Rhythm Exchange class that will engage the participants, facilitate different modes and medians of music and give each participant the chance to shine. Each class should give participants the opportunity for self-expression through the use of instruments and rhythmic sounds.
Previous class activities included Music trivia, drum circles, solo performances, singing etc. However, the focus should be on the use of instruments.
It is the instructor’s responsibility to find a replacement if he/she won’t be able to make it to class and give advance notice if she will need to miss a class. In case of an emergency, it is the instructor’s responsibility to let us know as soon as possible if they cannot make it to class.
The class is every Monday evening from 6-7 pm. With 15-20 minutes needed for set up and preparation.
