Operations Manager – Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene

The Operations Manager’s primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organizations financial functions and measurements. This position requires someone with the ability to multi-task, lead multiple cross-functional project teams, all the while controlling costs and improving service.

Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.

Responsibilities

Improve operational efficiencies/processes and policies in support of the companies mission: Management reporting, information flow and Bunzl processes.

Long term planning geared towards operational excellence: Resolve issues with suppliers, customers, or logistical issues/Employee deployment ; Review distribution center workloads with other departments, coordinating with the schedulers and planners & management.

Contribute to short and long-term planning and strategy as a member of the management team.

Oversee financial management /planning /systems and controls: Oversee short and long-term financial and managerial reporting

Drive initiatives within the branch team that contribute to long term operational excellence

Management of the branch budget: Oversees and implements financial and operational goals reporting monthly results.

Supervise, manage, train and motivate the staff including all managers

Managing the daily processing: Monitor daily transitions keeping track of invoice register margins, low margin report, daily inventory Adjustments, fill rates, prices changes, truck fill report.

Lead by Example: Set the highest standards and concern for effectiveness. Make realistic commitments and follow through on commitments made. Recognize and admit mistakes, push yourself and others to try new ways of doing things, acknowledge feelings about change and ways to deal with change.

Ensure a Safe and Healthy Work Environment that is Compliant, Legal & Ethical.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or equivalent related background.

Minimum of 7 to 10 years demonstrated experience in Operations and/or Sales management required

Specific knowledge of the supply and distribution industry required

Must have demonstrated success with problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level

Ability to work with a wide degree of creativity and latitude

Must demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures

Strong customer and employee orientation

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to include presentation skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Must have a strong commitment to company values
