Part-time Faculty, Renewable Energy

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves around the world and in our local community, Conestoga College continues to adjust plans based on the guidance provided by our local Public Health authority. Considering these unprecedented circumstances, all final hiring decisions remain contingent upon confirmed enrolment numbers and the evolving work environment. Conestoga College will take appropriate measures to protect the safety and well-being of our College community and prospective candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process, including the scheduling of remote interviews.

Although many of our employees are currently working remotely, all employees are expected to be able to work on campus as required.

Responsibilities:
We are currently accepting applications for part-time faculty in the Renewable Energy programs within the School of Workforce Development. This individual is responsible for providing the delivery of curriculum and the development of an effective learning environment for students.

Building Green

Communications and Controls

Electrical Grid

Energy and Electricity Fundamentals

Energy, Storage and Management

Grounding and Installation

Hydro, Wind, Fuel Cell and Biofuel Renewable Energy Concepts and Practices

Micro-Grid and Energy Storage

Photovoltaic Grid Design: Residential and Small Commercial

Renewable Business Market: Current trends, policies and strategies

Renewable Project Development

Renewable Thermal Technology

Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Renewable Energy or related field

Experience teaching in a variety of adult education contexts is an asset

Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience incorporating relevant technologies in the field

Knowledge and experience using course/learning management systems (i.e. D2L) is an asset

Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills

Flexible with strong organizational skills

Ability to communicate professionally (verbal and written) with students, program team, vendors, stakeholders, etc.

Ability to relate to learners working at different skill levels in a shop environment

Strong commitment to ensuring student success

Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to problem-solving

Able to model safe, respectful conduct

Self-motivated, team player who can work cooperatively with Conestoga students and employees
