Unit Summary
The B2 South unit is comprised of 16 adult inpatients in the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, located at the Hamilton General site. This unit treats patients with spinal cord, amputation and other complex rehabilitation needs.
Position Summary
As a member of the healthcare team, the Physiotherapist will primarily be responsible for patients admitted to the spine program. The Physiotherapist coordinates, assesses and evaluates patient care and provides physiotherapy interventions to meet the needs of the patients. The Physiotherapist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, medical staff and community agencies in the provision of care and discharge planning for patients and their families. The Physiotherapist utilizes a patient-centered care approach and incorporates best available evidence into practice. The Physiotherapist participates and provides clinical education to physiotherapy students and others through preceptor, tutor and / or clinical lecturer activities. In addition to providing clinical care, the Physiotherapist will actively participate in professional practice and program committees that support patient care, clinical practice, education, and research as approved by Clinical Manager in consultation with the Chief of Physiotherapy Practice.

Qualifications
1. Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
2. Demonstrated experience, knowledge and interest in the assessment and management of clients with amputations
3. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
4. Demonstrated ability to work as a self directed independent practitioner while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
5. Demonstrated experience or interest in supervising Physiotherapy students, mentoring fellow staff and teaching Physiotherapy clinical skills
