Placement Advisor

Role Profile
Reporting to senior administrative staff, the incumbent is a proactive team member in the Faculty of Business, responsible for the delivery of field practice, business job placement and employment services to business students. The incumbent assists and prepares students for their placements and for the labour market through employment counseling; job search training; lectures and seminars; external marketing to employers; internal liaison with college departments; business community liaison; ongoing labour market research assessment, maintaining a database on cooperating employers and maintaining a database on current and graduating students.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
4 year degree in a related field

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: human resources, counseling, recruitment or employment services.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgment, work with interruptions, and resolve conflicts.
  • The incumbent must be able to deliver employment training to students, research new employment opportunities, liaise between employers and students and plan career networking events.
