What you will do:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Policy Analyst will:
Identify and address Policy issues as well as develop new policies and provide policy analysis and advice.

Research issues, make presentations, participate in the development of written proposals, cabinet submissions, reports, briefing notes, and strategic plans.

Work in close cooperation with staff, branches and departments, as well as with both the anglophone and francophone school districts of the province.

Be a knowledge expert in Kindergarten-grade 12 and early childhood policy and legislative issues.

Develop responses to requests from the public, school districts, other jurisdictions and stakeholders.

Liaise with other jurisdictions, consult with stakeholders and represent the Department on inter-departmental committees.

Contribute to coordinating the activities of the Legislative Assembly.

Work environment:
Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton

Office layout: cubicles

Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:15-4:30

Need to have:
A university degree in Arts, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Sciences, Law or a related field, and a minimum or four (4) years of related work.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

This position will require written and spoken competence in English and French. Please state your language capability on your application.

Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Education Act and Early Childhood Services Act

Experience in legal analysis

Wage:
$1,928 – $2,695 Biweekly (PB 4)
