Alcool NB Liquor (ANBL) and Cannabis NB (CNB)

The New Brunswick Liquor Corporation is seeking a President and CEO to oversee all aspects of Alcool NB Liquor and Cannabis NB. Reporting to the Board of Directors and managing an executive team of 8, the President and CEO will lead all aspects of the $500mil retail and customer-oriented Crown Corporations. He or she is accountable for the development and execution of key strategic plans, and ensuring that ANBL and CNB have the vision, structure, people, culture, and capability to achieve business goals.

Responsibilities of the President and CEO include

  • Developing and delivering the strategic vision and long-term business plans
  • Developing and driving financial and process discipline to achieve annual net profit targets
  • Managing reporting for proactive, data-driven decision-making at the Executive, Board, and Retail-levels
  • Managing external relationships and reporting to the Provincial Government ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure the strategy and culture is embedded across the organization
  • Providing direction of future initiatives through use of ROIs

You have a keen interest in the alcohol and cannabis industries. ANBL and Cannabis NB are evolving, growing, and continuing to add value to the province through the development and incorporation of new revenue streams. You have a pulse on the marketplace and are excited for what the future holds.

Your leadership style has been described as influential, personable, engaging, collaborative, and innovative. You bring a wealth of executive experience within the retail or consumer packaged goods industry, with a deep understanding and appreciation of the importance of delivering an excellent overall customer experience. Your decisions are data-driven, and you are an expert at identifying and creating value in an organization, with a reputation for building solid business relationships with public and private sectors and boards.

Your executive leadership

As the leader of the ANBL Executive Management Team, you will inspire, coach, and develop your team to promote and embed a culture of innovation and success across the organization, with a focus on growth, good corporate citizenship, and customer service. Dedicated to effective team building, you are an expert at assessing a group’s strengths and development areas, and creating plans for success and continuous improvement. You can easily work across multiple departments to drive results, as you develop the vision, set goals, and establish accountability.

Your strategic business leadership

Your business knowledge spans across all functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT. You are skilled at translating vision into common language to motivate and inspire all levels, including retail, operations, and management. You are a trusted leader, advisor, and big-picture thinker who proactively discovers ways to capture new opportunities and market share to achieve results. You have a keen interest, and a pulse on what the future holds in terms of opportunities and risks, as ANBL and Cannabis NB seek to incorporate new revenue streams. You understand the process of change at the individual, departmental, and organizational-level, and are adept at leading growth in complex and constantly changing setting.

Location

  • Position is based at the ANBL Retail Operations Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick

Language requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in English is required (oral and written)
  • Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset

Total compensation

ANBL offers a generous total compensation package, including salary, benefits plan with medical, dental, and travel coverage, and shared risk pension plan.

Alcool NB Liquor (ANBL), also known as the New Brunswick Liquor Corporation, is a Provincial Crown Corporation responsible for the purchase, importation, distribution, and retail activity for all beverage alcohol in the bilingual province of New Brunswick. Time.) retail customer experience, ANBL offers a portfolio of over 2,200 products, including wines, spirits, beers, and other ready to drink beverages, and services the public and licensees through a network of 40 corporate retail stores, 87 private agency store outlets, and a grocery channel.

As a consumer-driven, innovative, and highly progressive retailer, ANBL was chosen as the preferred service provider for Cannabis NB. With 20 retail stores in 15 communities across the province, Cannabis NB also provides customers with online sales to support province-wide distribution.

Together, ANBL and Cannabis NB exceed $500mil in annual sales, contributing more than $189mil directly to the Provincial Government.
