Process Managers thrive in understanding how things work – that means designing business processes, understanding and mitigating business risks and ensuring we have the right controls in place – and then making them better. As a Process Manager within the Canada Card Risk Office, you will work with extended teams across the enterprise to manage risk and improve our business processes. All Process Managers are expected to:
- Design and manage the daily process flow including process measurement, analysis, and responding to breakdowns as needed
- Support defined framework for prioritizing, delivering, and driving efficiencies to create
better experiences for our customers - Apply management skills such as communications and change leadership to help drive key priorities like product launches, technology changes, and continuous improvement
- Learn and leverage process management tools and techniques that are part of the Design, Manage and Improve system
- Maintain knowledge of operational procedures and ensure documentation is relevant and updated
- Perform quality assurance routines on existing processes
- Build expertise in the tools and interactions that are a part of your process and use that expertise to enable stakeholders in the process to successfully play their roles
Specifically, as a Principal Process Manager, you will have responsibility for partnering with associates within and outside the Risk Management community to ensure that key risk management processes are managed in a well managed manner across Canada. Such processes could include the design and management of controls as well as management of operational and regulatory breakdowns across Canada. You will also learn more about Enterprise Risk, Control and Issue Management Programs so that you will be able to lead and implement risk management tools and techniques that are in line or ahead of industry benchmarks. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Consult with the business on building a strong control environment for mitigating risk and addressing regulatory obligations
- Consult with the business on best practices for navigating operational and regulatory breakdowns
- Manage the day to day operations and prioritization of key initiatives of a Risk Management team/pod
- Conduct data analysis and build and maintain risk insights and reporting products
- Manage and improve risk management processes with quality to ensure processes are performing as expected in an ever evolving risk and regulatory landscape
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, or Science
- At least 2 years of experience designing, building, managing and improving processes
- At least 5 year experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Financial Industry
- Experience working in an Agile workplace environment
- Experience of using Lean & Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience in SQL, Tableau and other data analytical techniques
