POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Information and Communication Technology Cluster within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, particularly for the courses and programs related to the Supply Chain Management at the North and IGS (International Graduate School) campuses and to get involved and support activities that contribute Humber’s Centres of Innovation (COI). In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student progress and achievement, class management, contribution in program development, applied research, and other co-curricular activity involvement. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective and innovative learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.

In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the programs, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the programs, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Management or Business Administration. Training in Quality Management and Project Management are assets. The successful candidate must have at least five years of industry experience and must have polytechnic post-secondary teaching experience or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry. Exposure to several of the supply chain areas (purchasing, distribution, inventory management) is desirable. Operational responsibility, with demonstrated success in managing a business unit would ensure your ability to provide students with real life examples related to learning outcomes. Proficiency with current technologies in the supply chain, including SAP or ERP’s, DMS’s, Excel and Access are required. The incumbent will possess strong industry ties, and be affiliated with one of the major Supply Chain Professional Associations.

The incumbent must possess significant experience working on industry projects in a collaborative/team-based environment, with demonstrated results. Experience in applied research projects, collaborating with industry or having an established program of applied research, would be an asset. Integration of industry-led projects into curriculum is an asset.

In addition, the successful candidate will have engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture. The successful candidate will possess well developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills and have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery.
