Program Coordinator, Communications and Health Education (Geriatrics)

To support us on our journey, Sinai Health is looking for a Program Coordinator, Geriatrics Health Education and Communications to support our Department of Medicine’s Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program.

The Program Coordinator, Geriatrics Health Education and Communications position is an integral part of the busy, dynamic, and growing Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program at Mount Sinai Hospital. In this role, you will be expected to exercise sound judgment and independence while managing the program’s health education development and communications activities related to the delivery of the Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality customer service, applying excellent problem solving and communication skills to ensure the success of the program.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program, the Program Coordinator for Geriatrics Health Education and Communications’ responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing, writing and editing health education content and messages for digital and traditional media, e.g. website, online communications, newsletters, brochures, reports, presentations, etc.

Working closely with the associated communications specialists to ensure appropriate content development and distribution through various channels including social media.

Maintaining and updating www.sinaigeriatrics.ca website to ensure it presents accurate, comprehensive content to engage and inform our external stakeholders including patients and families, prospective and current medical trainees, and healthcare providers.

Develop and maintain accurate real-time Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program digital and print health education content distribution, engagement and interaction records for decision support and reporting.

Performing program–related media and research monitoring for reporting or content development.

Manage translation of required digital and print materials in multiple languages.

Work closely with Program Manager to support health education content planning, development, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the Ontario Geriatrics Learning Centre, and ACE Collaborative Website.

Provide program-related event support as required.

Performing other job related duties as assigned by Program Manager or Medical Director.

Job Requirements

Successful completion of a College Diploma in communications, journalism or public relations or a related field from an accredited educational institution. University degree an asset.

Minimum of two (2) years of related experience preferably working within a large, dynamic not for profit environment.

Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

Proficient with Adobe Suite including Illustrator and InDesign

Proficient and familiar with web content management systems including Word Press Familiar with AODA and ability to meet its associated specifications and requirements.

Strong work ethic; positive, client focused attitude; superior professionalism; demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service

Superior written/oral communication, and presentation skills; excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to effectively convey factual information and detailed explanations

Excellent time management, organizational and self-planning skills displaying flexibility by adjusting work schedules according to changing priorities, meeting demanding deadlines and producing high quality work

Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record

The successful applicant will be an employee of the Department of Medicine’s Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program, not Mount Sinai Hospital.
