About the role
The Program Management Director – Ontario is accountable for managing the portfolio of Ontario Government and health service provider projects and programs, throughout the term of their contracts. You will oversee the post-contract business build-out, program and project planning activities, integrated project plan, 3rd party vendor and partner management, project delivery, stakeholder management and financial performance of Ontario Government contracts.
Reporting to the SVP Operations, North America, and taking direction from the Vice President, Client Value, you will work with the North America operating committee to propose business cases and change requests for any activity not expressly covered in the terms of the contract(s) under management, and associated Teaming Agreements, Subcontracts, and other artifacts of those contracts.
You will also manage governance committees that include Orion Health stakeholders, 3rd party vendors, client stakeholders and Ontario health service provider and resident representative, as well as vendor partners from kickoff through post-implementation. You will monitor ongoing client experience to ensure that senior government decisionmakers are kept current with the health and status of the portfolio of projects. Day to day, you will direct the work of a program management team, consisting of tactical project managers and consultants (Orion Health professional services, Orion Health Clinical Consultants, Orion Health R&D and Partner Vendors) and will be responsible for tracking deliverables and schedules in alignment with the integrated project plan.
Some of what you’ll do:
Meet regularly with stakeholders to review overall program and solution state, outstanding deliverables, incident and problem tickets, system performance/stability, end user satisfaction, user adoption and utilization
Take leadership responsibility for client remediation events, coordinate the repair effort and ensure re-establishment of good relations following event resolution
Assist in collection activities where necessary
Maintain clients with contractual limits for software versions
Work with Service Account Management and Technical Account Management teams to ensure clients move to the most recent version of the Orion Health solutions
Work with clients to identify problem-solving opportunities that can assist the client in leveraging Orion software and services (implementation, consulting, performance management, etc)
Maintain weekly reporting as required and other activities as directed.
About You:
10+ years proven experience as program director or other managerial position at director or above, Ontario Government experience preferred
Established track record of delivering project/programs on time, on budget and with client satisfaction
Exceptional skills in status reporting, risk analysis, scope control and financial control of projects and programs
Business acumen with strategic planning experience
Excellent leadership and organizational skills
Canada Healthcare IT experience in general, and Ontario in particular
General Knowledge of the healthcare IT market in the greater North America region
Core skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field
Master’s Degree considered a plus
PMI or equivalent certification or experience a plus
CPHIMS-CA a plus
