Region Sales Manager – Flow

ABB Electrification business (EL) is a leading provider of a full range of protection, control and measurement solutions – enabling safer and smarter electricity flow from substation to the point of consumption. We deliver products and systems designed to connect, protect and control electrical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety for equipment and personnel. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will lead sales efforts for ABB Power Electronics Inc, within the Canada region. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, through key account development and new account acquisition. This position reports to the ELPC US Central Sales Director.

Your responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic plans within the Canada Region including supporting company growth objectives.

Establish and maintain effective customer relationships with key contacts at strategic accounts.

Develop and build senior-level client relationships.

Implement strategies to achieve budgeted sales quota as well as maintain a revenue forecast for the region.

Manage, train and support independent Manufacturer Representatives within the assigned territory.

Demonstrate a consultative and inclusive commercial approach within the region and across the business.

Maintain CRM (SalesForce.com) database of opportunities and contacts.

Manage and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction within existing account base.

Manage, distribute, and coordinate sales leads and prospects.

Coordinate customer resolution process to corrective actions.

Attend trade shows and other market/industry events.

Work with Product Management to prepare effective & compelling customer proposals as well as promote new and existing products to maximize sales.

Provide thoughtful feedback to Product Management & Segment Leaders related to products, features, and new market opportunities.

Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, & customer trends to ensure that commercial support is aligned to meet customer and competitive landscape.

Oversee local engagement with OEM/Distribution channels.

Your background

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial role, promoting electronic components and/or solutions to OEM customers.

Minimum of 3 years of experience within the designated territory.

Position requires the ability to travel an average of 60% of the time during a typical workweek.

The position must be located Toronto or Ottawa.

Understanding of DC Power architectures for Communications, Data center, and industrial markets.

Experience working within a consultative sales process.

Requires strong oral and written communication skills to negotiate with, and influence customers regarding major sales campaigns.
