Description
To provide assistance with the general operations of the Thrift Store through customer service and relations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Morning cash duties
- Bathroom duties
- Clean curio, jewelry cases and mirrors in fitting rooms
- Sort and hang used clothing
- Stock and organize merchandise on shelves and display racks
- Service customers inquires
- Process sales transactions
- Close off daily sales on register
- Ensure store is neat & tidy throughout the day
- Assist with daily bank deposits.
- End of day clean up duties
- Position requires a moderate amount of lifting/ sorting/ loading/ unloading donated goods.
- Must be willing to ask for assistance when lifting more than 10lbs.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to standards consistent with the values and philosophy of The Salvation Army.
- Participate fully and constructively in staff meetings and in-service training and performance appraisals.
- Represent the organization in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Retail Sales Experience preferred
- Grade 12 or relative experience.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Work with minimal supervision
- Neat in appearance and bondable.
- Physical effort required: The incumbent needs to be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds
- Willing to subscribe fully to The Salvation Army mission / ethics / values.
SUPERVISION: Reports to Thrift Store Supervisor
WORKING CONDITIONS: 3 days per week (6.5 hours per day with 1 hour unpaid lunch)
Place: The Salvation Army Thrift Store, 138 Main Street, Sussex NB
Salary: $11.75 per hour
