The agency serves up to 1000 youth a year and continues to evolve with the current needs of the community. Position Overview
BBBSO is seeking an innovative, results oriented Senior Coordinator, Donor Relations and Stewardship to join the Development Team. Reporting to the Manager Resource Development (MRD), the Senior Coordinator will support the mission and growth of BBBSO through the execution of fundraising and high-quality stewardship with donors and stakeholders.
Working both in office and remotely the Senior Coordinator, Donor Relations and Stewardship will identify, cultivate and solicit mid-level gifts from individuals and corporations ranging from $1,000 to $25,000. With an overall annual giving fundraising goal of $300,000. Working closely with the Board of Directors, alumni and programs team, the Senior Coordinator, Donor Relations and Stewardship will develop prospect research strategies, case for support, while also supporting the development of new digital and in person fundraising initiatives with the overall goal to inspire donors into sustainable giving through shared values and goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Executive Director and Development team to develop custom donor acknowledgement, recognition and stewardship strategies for senior volunteers and major donors.
- Coordinate BBBSO’s Board fundraising work including communications and meeting preparation, organization and reports, minutes etc.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, including strategy development and 1:1 relationship building.
- Research background information on potential corporate, foundation and individual donors.
- Assist in coordination and implementation of all annual events and new digitally focused events.
- Coordinate sponsor/donor engagement opportunities and activities.
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of stewardship material and reports.
- Create compelling donor proposals based on research and donors’ relationship with the organization.
- Responsible for recording and monitoring donor initiatives for Development team, including the ownership of a bi-weekly prospect meeting.
- Attend and respond to third party requests/events as required.
- Support with the maintenance and updating of the database regularly.
- Support with administrative tasks including data entry, pulling reports from the database.
- Perform other duties to support Development team as required.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- University or College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fundraising professional minimum 3-5 years of experience within a fundraising environment in not for profit, soliciting mid-level gifts and pledges.
- Understanding of the prospect to door moves management process and cycle.
- Ability to build new relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers:
- Skilled relationship manager, able to interact with donors, build relationships, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience preparing and presenting leadership proposals.
- Understanding of the prospect to door moves management process and cycle.
- Highly organized with strong administrative and project management skills, able to juggle simultaneous priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience using relational databases and managing digital platforms and campaigns. Experience with Sumac and Salesforce would be strong assets.
- Intermediate experience with Word & Excel would be an asset.
- Possesses a high degree of customer service skills with the ability to work easily and effectively with staff and supporters.
- Compelling communicator, applying excellent written and oral communication skills to synthesize complex information into a strong case for support and fundraising appeals.
- Experience using research tools to gather information on prospective donors
- Energetic, positive, outgoing, self-directed, detail-oriented, passionate, collaborative; an out-of-the-box thinker willing to go the extra mile to achieve highest-possible results
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel as required.
Work Environment: Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa is a comfortable working environment. The organization’s activities and programs offer exciting changes to work routine throughout the year. This position will include both in-office and remote work. In addition, some evenings and/or weekends may be required.
